This beautiful and challenging circular route starts in Lam and leads clockwise over the saddle and first over the Kleiner Osser and then over the Großer Osser. From there it is a steady descent back to the starting point via Lohberg, Eggersberg and Buchet. The section to the summit cross is quite rocky. Between the two peaks is the Osser chapel and the beautiful Osser meadow, which is still kept open by sheep today. On the Großer Osser is the Osserschutzhaus, which is definitely worth a stop. The winter and summer opening times vary from week to week, so it is advisable to check the current opening times before setting off (see tips).
It is easy to travel to and from Lam by train and there are also places to stop for refreshments.
