Through the Kloster-Rotter-Forest

Popular circular hike in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. The starting point is the car park at Lam railway station. The hiking trail starts at the small park with pavilion and leads along the Koppenweg up to the Koppenhof (Rathgeb). Above the farm, first follow the road until the hiking trail continues to the left below the road. After following the road for a while, turn right and continue uphill. From the edge of the forest, there is a beautiful view of the Hinteröd farm. You soon cross a forest road and follow the La6 on a meadow path to Einödhof Vorderöd. Above the farm, the forest path leads steadily and moderately steeply through the forest towards Eck, past the ruined Stanzen farm. Opposite Berggasthof Eck, several hiking trails now follow the same route (La6, European long-distance hiking trail E6 and Goldsteig). The predicatised Goldsteig offers views of the sea of forests with its valleys and mountains, such as Hohenbogen, Osser, Arber, Rachel and even the Alps in good weather, right at the start at Mühlriegel (1080 m) and Ödriegel (1156 m). Once you reach the Waldwiesmarterl (1139 m), leave the ridge trail, turn left and walk steeply downhill on La6 to Hinterwaldeck. The road or hiking trail La6 and La7 runs below the farmstead in the direction of Einödhof Vorderwaldeck. Shortly before Vorderwaldeck, turn left onto a forest path, which leads downhill to the district of Lissen and further along the municipal road back to the starting point.
