Popular hike in Saxon Switzerland National Park, Saxony.
This beautiful hike leads along many of the well-known rock formations of Saxon Switzerland in the direction of Schmilka. You should definitely bring a certain degree of sure-footedness and a head for heights - it goes (secured by stairs and railings) high up on imposing rocks and you hike partly on narrow ridge paths.
It starts at the parking lot at Zahngrund. However, you can also get to the starting point by bus. From there it goes through the shooting ground in the direction of the famous Schrammsteine. The Schrammstein view is particularly impressive. The trail continues along the Gratweg in the direction of Schmilka. On the way is the Small Bastion.
The route is not necessarily recommended for families with young children as there is a mix of uneven paths, vertical stairs and precipices.
