Neumannmühle, Reitsteig, Hickelhöhle und Goldsteig

Varied hike from the Neumannsmühle in Saxon Switzerland, Saxony. The route begins at the Neumannmühle, where you can park or travel by bus. Along the Zeughausstrasse it goes through the Saxon Switzerland National Park to the Großer Reitsteig. Many serpentines lead to the Great Edelweiß Tower. From there it goes down through the Hickel Gorges and the dry valley of Großer Zschand. After the valley follows the ascent via the Goldsteig up to the excellent Goldstein viewpoint. The Roßsteig leads a little further uphill in the direction of Sumpfporstkegel and Bärfangkegel. After great views, the path leads downhill and gradually back through the Buchschluchte, Kleiner Zschand and a last stretch on the Flößersteig. The route is quite long and goes up and down, which is why a certain level of fitness, sturdy shoes and sure-footedness are advantageous.
