With its more than 670 m above sea level. NN the Kalmit is the highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest. The climb is fairly constant and rarely excessively steep. A geological feature is the Felsenmeer, which you cross twice.
The hike begins in the idyllic town of St. Martin. If you come by car, you can leave it in the parking lot at the tourist office. You can also arrive by bus. From there it goes along the Kropsbach to the Sandwiesenweiher. If you want, you can experience the barefoot path there before continuing uphill to Kalmit and the Kalmithaus. There you can stop off and enjoy the view (note opening times). From there, the descent follows idyllic paths back to the starting point.
