The tour begins at the Klausentalhütte car park and takes you on the best mobile trails and paths via the Hambach Castle to the Kalmit (672 m) and finally down to the Hilschweiher. The route is quite demanding, there are some steep ascents and descents.
It goes past several more mountains in the region such as the Zwerchberg, Sternberg, Platte, Blättersberg and a few more. The entire route leads through the forest.
