The circular hiking trail through the vast land of the Sundische Wiese can be started at the Ellerhof bicycle parking lot. From there, the trail leads to the "Panoramasicht" viewing platform, where the natural development of the area can be observed. A detour to the Hohe Düne offers a breathtaking view of the Baltic Sea and the wind tidal flats. Further along the dyke path, wild boar can be spotted in the reeds with a bit of luck. Not only can the Werder Islands be seen from the "Werder View", but waders and water birds can also be observed in the shallow waters in front of it. Before returning along the old road, it is worth making a detour to Pramort. Many animals can also be observed from here and the island of Hiddensee shimmers on the horizon when visibility is good. In the fall, Pramort is a popular roosting place for cranes.
Note: The area is closed from September to October from 15:00 - 08:00 so that the cranes can rest in peace. It is only possible to witness the cranes flying in with a limited number of participants.
