The loop begins and ends at the Schierke train station, so it is easy to travel there by train. The path then leads to the Brocken with the cozy Brocken restaurant and back down into the woods at the Hermannsklippe and along the banks of the Ilse. A break can be taken at the Waldgasthaus Plessenburg.
