Varied and challenging loop in the Harz Nature Park, Lower Saxony.
The tour starts at the "Romkerhalle" car park, near the bus stop and the Inn of the same name. It first leads to the wonderfully idyllic "Verlobungsinsel" island ("Engagement Island") and then past the waterfall and on to the cliffs with great views and the "Großer Treppenstein". Wonderful views of the Oker valley await. As the route is sometimes very steep and over stony terrain, surefootedness and a head for heights are an advantage. The challenging climbs and narrow paths are part of this adventure.
