Popular circular hike in the Harz Nature Park, Lower Saxony.
The Kästenklippentour is a certified premium hiking trail in the Harz. There are some climbs to overcome on this route, which requires a lot of fitness. However, the route to the unique rock formations of the Kästecliffs, which is excellently signposted with the “Old from the Mountain” symbol, is worth it. The route leads through the Gläsekental and the Schlackental, always along small bubbling streams. Wide gravel paths dominate. Since a large part of the route leads through forest, this route is very pleasant to hike, especially on summer days.
If there are no free spaces in the parking lot at Café Goldberg, you can use the sports park at the racetrack, which is almost 2 km away.
Highlights of the hike:
- Box cliffs
- Rock formations “Alter vom Berge”
- wonderful forest paths
- Refreshment possibility
