The hike starts at the HarzWaldHaus (formerly "Haus der Natur"). Nearby there is a tourist information, the bus stop "Bad Harzburg Burgbergbahn" and parking lots. This variant has existed since 2005, and in 2014 the Teufelsstieg was extended from the Brocken to Elend. The route is consistently marked with a white witch on a green background. There are places to stop for refreshments at the Molkenhaus and on the Brocken. The way back can then be made to Torfhaus and from there you can take bus line 820 to Bad Harzburg.
