A route with wonderful views that leads past the Eckerstausee to the legendary Brocken. The notorious Kolonnenweg is considered the toughest ascent in the Harz Mountains. However, the effort is rewarded with a fabulous view of the entire Harz National Park. It starts at the Harzburg, here you can take the Burgberg cable car or one of the paths from Bad Harzburg. There is a cozy rest stop on the Brocken and at the Molkenhaus.
