The hike starts at the historic Rheinsberger Tor, so it is easy to get to by train. It goes to the Ruppiner See, here you are greeted by the steel sculpture "Parzival am See". The history of the Trinitatis monastery church goes back to the 13th century and, with its twin towers, is the landmark of the Fontanestadt. It continues along the old grammar school on the school square, to the Museum Neuruppin and in the stylistically striking temple garden. Crown Prince Friedrich had this built as the "Amalthea Garden" in the 18th century, and the round temple also dates from this time. The baroque stone putti and the rare plants in these regions were not added until the 19th century. There are numerous places to stop for a break in the city.
