Varied circular hiking trail in Neuruppin, Brandenburg. On this circular hiking trail you can get to know both historic Neuruppin and its beautiful nature. It starts at the Rheinsberger Tor - here you can easily get there by bus and train. Via the Soviet Cemetery of Honor, we head towards the city park and always along the banks of the Old Rhin. You walk along the east bank via Alt Ruppin and Gildenhall and return to the old town via the Seedamm. You will be welcomed by "Parzival am See" - a sculpture that stands for departure and a Neuruppin without a garrison. And the monastery church of St. Trinity can already be viewed from the other bank. The history of this Neuruppin landmark begins in the 13th century; later it was restored by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. You go through the rose garden to the school square (if you want, you can pay a visit to the nearby Neuruppin Museum). Here you will find the old grammar school, which had some famous students in its time: master builder Karl Friedrich Schinkel, Theodor Fontane, the sculptor Max Wiese and poet Eva Strittmatter went to school here. In the old town there are numerous places to stop for refreshments where you can end the day and you can return to the starting point via the green ramparts.
