This popular loop is ideal for an easy day trip. To the west of Lake Spitzingsee, the route climbs a small peak, which welcomes with a hut and Bavarian cuisine.
The hike begins at the valley station of the Taubstein cable car and first follows the Kratzerweg in the Firstgraben up to the Untere First. From here the route continues to the Obere First, where, as on the Untere First, a mountain inn and wonderful views can be expected. From here, the Trautweinweg trail goes to the Spitzingssattel before returning to the starting point.
