The tour down to Kochel am See starts at the Tutzinger Hut at the foot of the Benediktenwand. Depending on the weather, the hut is open from mid/end April to the end of October or beginning of November (see "Tips"). The route leads via the Staffelalm alp and the Kochler Alp and then along forest roads down to Kochel am See. There are overnight accommodation and refreshment stops here and the journey can be continued by train from Kochel station.
