Kienberg from Ach valley

Challenging mountain tour in the Allgaeu Alps, Bavaria. Very steep, narrow and exposed mountain path with some easy, unsecured climbing spots. Sure-footedness and sturdy shoes are absolutely necessary, not for children and do not attempt this hike when it is wet. After a good one and a half kilometers of relaxed warm-up in the Ach Valley, a steep, narrow, sometimes exposed mountain path awaits, which later also contains passages secured by wire ropes. Once the summit of the 1st Pfrontener Berg is reached, the probably most challenging part of the hike is behind you. Nevertheless, the further course of the Kienberg-Weg requires a good level of fitness, as the route has numerous, sometimes gentler, sometimes very steep ascents and descents. After a little more than 5 km, the highest point of the hike is reached: the 1536 m above sea level high main summit of the Kienberg. With the exception of a short counter climb directly behind the summit you walk downhill from now on (attention, steep descent again in parts). When you arrive in the Ach Valley, good food and cool drinks await you in the Fallmuehle - a well-deserved reward after the strenuous crossing of the Kienberg. Highlights of the hike: - 1.
