Demanding hike in the Allgaeu, Bavaria.
This route is a relatively easier alternative to the ascent from Milchhaeusle to the Kienberg. The hike is steep and you walk on narrow (but not overgrown or muddy, since south-facing) paths in grass or forest. The paths are a bit exposed, which is why sure-footedness is absolutely necessary. This hike is not advisable when it is wet.
First follow the forest road (not the footpath) to the Milchhaeusle.
At the big hairpin bend, go straight ahead through the gate, then a bit more on the forest road, later uphill to the forest without a path. There you will find red, faded markings and a clearly visible footpath. At some point it crosses under a rock face, after which a small waterfall awaits. Immediately afterwards, you hike right uphill steeply on a clearly recognizable, marked trail. At some point a small stream is crossed and it is now much less exposed to the crest of the Kienberg. There you meet the normal path (Kienberg-Weg), which you can take back into the valley.
Finding a parking space can be a bit difficult.
