Popular loop to the Bad Kissinger Hütte, Bavaria.
The hike to the Bad Kissinger Hütte is one of the most beautiful tours in the Tannenheimer Tal and makes hikers' hearts beat faster. In summer, there are stunning views and lots of wildflowers along the way, from alpine roses to gentian.
The route from Pfronten/Steinach railway station leads from the valley floor to the hut. The partly steep ascent is rewarded with a fantastic torrent gorge, the Reichenbachklamm. The route is north-facing throughout and the first half is in the forest, so the ascent is shady. Narrow mountain paths alternate with wider tracks.
The Bad Kissinger Hütte, which is open in the summer months, invites to take a break on its wonderfully sunny terrace. Overnight stays are also possible with prior reservation.
The route leads downhill over the 1985 metre high Aggenstein via several hairpin bends back to the starting point.
