The ascent from Walchensee (car park Am Tanneneck) is relatively quiet and little used. However, the ridge path to the Herzogstand, in particular, is more frequented at the weekend. Since the Herzogstand is a popular destination and can be reached by cable car, it is often visited. However, the views from the ridge path always make up for this. The descent takes place with the Herzogstandbahn (subject to a fee).
