Best trails near Brunswick Cathedral

Popular running event in Brunswick, Lower Saxony. This is the half marathon route of the Braunschweiger Lauftage. The marathon follows the same route, but completes the loop twice. The route begins at the Kohlmarkt and leads around the Suedsee and through several pretty parks south of the city center. Current information is available from the organizer (link under "Tips"). The Weser-Harz-Heide Cycle Path (WHH) follows this route first from the center of Braunschweig to Abbesbüttel. An exclusive residential area was built here a few years ago with Marina Abbesbüttel directly on the Mittelland Canal.
