Best trails in Rohkunborri National Park
Rohkunborri National Park is nestled in one of Troms county’s pristine wilderness areas. To the west, you'll find the Sørdalen valley, home to a dramatic canyon shaped by meltwater from Lake Torneträsk during the last Ice Age. Towering above this canyon are majestic, glacier-clad mountains soaring over 1,500 meters. Down in the valley, lush, old-growth birch forests provide habitat for a rich variety of plant and bird species. To the east, the impressive Rohkunborri massif rises, enveloped by forested valleys, alpine wetlands, and the crystal-clear Lake Geavdnjajávri, famous for its Arctic char.
In Rohkunborri National Park, outdoor enthusiasts can hike, fish, and hunt. You can follow the waymarked Arctic Trail, which runs from Sweden in the south and connects with Øvre Dividal National Park in the north, weaving through the stunning canyon in Sørdalen valley. Alternatively, venture off the beaten path in this vast wilderness. Just remember to pack your tent for any overnight hikes!
