Best trails in Reisa National Park
Reisa National Park is an almost pristine natural haven, boasting a diverse landscape that includes canyons, salmon-rich rivers, stream valleys, wetlands, and mountain plateaus. At the heart of the park lies the stunning Reisa Valley, characterized by its flat valley floor flanked by steep cliffs and towering precipices. Within this breathtaking valley, you'll discover numerous captivating waterfalls, with Mollisfossen being the most famous for its spectacular double cascade and Imofossen located further downstream.
As you venture deeper into the valley, the scenery opens up, revealing gentle slopes that stretch out gracefully. In the southeastern section, the terrain flattens, showcasing expansive moorlands and elongated moraine ridges. To the west, toward Finland, the landscape has a more alpine character, featuring several peaks over 800 meters high.
This varied environment in Reisa provides a wealth of experiences. You can enjoy extensive hiking trails or explore the area by riverboat or canoe. Within the park, two unstaffed cabins are available for visitors: Nedrefosshytta, situated in the heart of the valley, and Raisjavrihytta, located at the northeastern edge of Raisjavri. There is also a private, unstaffed cabin available for rent in Saraelv.
