Porongurup National Park is located in the Great Southern region of Western Australia on Minang Land. As the name suggests, it was established around the granite peak Porongurup Mountain Range, which used to be an island surrounded by the sea millions of years ago. On the upper slopes high rainfall means that karri forests exist quite a distance from their normal region, it is one of the major attractions of the Porongurups, in the lower areas of the park the vegetation is a mix forest of jarrah and marri forest plus open mossy herbland. Come take a walk through the bush/forest, or take a scenic drive up the mountains to enjoy the panoramic views.
