The route begins at the John Herington Picnic Area and ventures first into the Mountain Quarry where interesting sights loom. Leaving the quarry the route follows straightforward trails around the base of Greenmount National Park before a short climb up to the lookout.

This is an enjoyable trail through Greenmount National Park, situated on the slopes of Greenmount Hill and overlooking Perth, Western Australia. The trail begins from the Mountain Quarry Car Park on Coulston Road.
The highlight is the Greenmount Lookout - a great spot to enjoy a picnic with a view. This route can easily be adjusted by using some of the other trails in the park to make a shortcut.
