It has only a handful of trails that are poorly marked, steep and can be overgrown but are worth the effort for the beautiful panoramic views. This is an awesome track in the Pioneer Peaks National Park, located in the middle of the east coast of Queensland, not too far from Mackay. This short out-and-back trail begins at the end of Westlake Drive.
The trail is marked with pink ribbons but can become overgrown in some areas, so appropriate clothing is recommended. Some scrambling is required in a few steep sections, and you'll be treated to some rewarding views from the top!

This is a steep hike in the Pioneers Peaks National Park in northeast Queensland, located not too far from Mackay. Please be aware that the walk is up a service road used to maintain the infrastructure at the top of Mount Blackwood. It is a shared road, and maintenance vehicles may be using it - there is no public access for vehicles after the gate. There are no public amenities.
