This track starts with a bit of a challenge right at the entrance – you’ll need to cross a barbed wire fence to get into the park. Near the sign “Peak Range National Park – Wolfang Peak Section,” there’s a small structure that helps you get over the fence safely without hurting your hands. The next challenge is making your way across the flat section to the base. There’s no clear path, and in some parts the grass is quite tall, which makes it tricky to see where you’re stepping. It can feel a bit uncertain underfoot. The final challenge is the climb from the base to the top. You need to stay focused to avoid small rocks, carefully place your feet on the bigger rock sections, and choose your line wisely as it gets steeper. I’d rate this hike as hard, mainly due to the lack of signage and the type of terrain risks involved.
