This is a great little family friendly track through the rainforest of Mount Hypipamee National Park, located about half way between Atherton and Ravenshoe. The track is sealed, and leads out to a viewing platform overlooking the crater.
This is a great place to see several species of possum and Lumholtz’s tree-kangaroos, so keep your eyed peeled! There are also many rainforest birds in the area, including Victoria's riflebirds, bridled honeyeaters and golden and tooth-billed bowerbirds.
