Enjoy this picturesque hike on a well-maintained trail through Girringun National Park, between Townsville and Innisfail in northern Queensland.
The beginning and end of the hike are at the Wallaman Falls Lookout, where parking is available. If you visit, taking a walk down to the waterfall is highly recommended, but be prepared for a strenuous climb back up. Proper hiking shoes are a must, as the trail can be slippery, muddy, and rocky.

This trail used to be the only inland pass for many kilometers in either direction and was used by bullock teams, lumberjacks and couriers. From here it's a relatively short walk up to the Kennedy Creek Falls and back down again. The trail itself is lovely and gets quite narrow towards the end. Lots of leeches in this area.

This walk explores part of the Dalrymple Gap walking track in Girringun National Park. Beginning from the northern end of the trail at the Damper Creek car park, you'll begin the steep ascent to the historic stone-pitched bridge near the top of Dalrymple Gap.
You can return via the same route, or continue along Dalrymple Gap walking track if you're feeling adventurous.
The best time to visit is between May and October, as during wet season the road into the park may be inaccessible.
