You have to do a bit of rock scrambling and bush bashing to find the start of the trail depending on where you land the boat. The first km or so is a bit overgrown but it opens up a nice wide clear track after that with an easy incline all the way to the lighthouse. You have the option of visiting the museum, cottage and lighthouse for a fee of $10 each. There is usually a caretaker there that can provide extra information about the history.
