A well marked trail through lovely rainforest to the Artists Cascades with a pool for a refreshing dip. On the way, visit the Strangler Cairn by artist Andy Goldsworthy and the entrance to an abandoned gold mine from the 1900s.
You can start this walk from any of the Booloumba Creek camping areas or the day use area.

The picturesque Summer Falls walkers’ camp is located in the Conondale National Park and is only accessible via foot. Nestled between brush box, tallowwood and white mahogany, it's a site worth visiting.
To top it off it's located close to the stunning multi-level Summer Falls. This route takes you to the falls, returning via a different route. You'll be walking along part of the Cononvale Range Great Walk, beginning from Sunday Creek Road.

From the day use area, the hike is a relatively flat and easy trip to the artists cascades area plus an adventurous trip to Booloumba Falls and the Breadknife.
There is a beautiful swim spot at the 1st falls and Artists Cascades. After the cascades area, the path follows onto the Booloumba Falls track. The Strangler Cairn © is a sculpture by an artist called Andy Goldsworthy. The structure is made from hand-cut granite and metamorphic blocks and includes a rainforest strangler fig sapling that is growing from the top of it.
On the way to there, you'll pass an old gold mine from the 1920's which is now closed for public safety. You'll also catch some nice views of Booloumba Creek as you make your way through the riparian rainforest.

This is a great trail out to the summit of Mount Allan in Conondale National Park. There is a 9.6 meter tall fire tower at the summit that you can climb for amazing panoramic views of the Mary Valley and surrounding Conondale Ranges.
