The crossing path of the Swabian Alb Association is marked with a red diamond. It leads from Margarethausen over the Heersberg up towards Schalksburg. There he meets another hiking trail that leads directly to the Schalksburg ruin viewpoint. Here you get historical insights as well as panoramic views of the landscape. In addition to the ruins, a barbecue area offers the opportunity for a leisurely rest.

It explores the fields, forests, hills and towns of the area, going in and out of different environments. It also passes various local mountain peaks, including the Hornau and the Kornberg, both of which are almost 900 meters high. Due to the length of the trail, the best way to do it is by bike.
