Schönbuch Nature Park is an almost completely wooded area to the southwest of Stuttgart. Its easily accessible location makes it an important recreational area in this region. Its core area was designated the first nature park in Baden-Württemberg back in 1972. The highest peak in Schönbuch is the Bromberg. Due to its species-rich and idyllic forest areas, the nature park was awarded the title of Forest Area of the Year in 2014.

The Schönbuch Nature Park Information Center has a long tradition. It was opened in 1997 to mark the 25th anniversary of the park. Since then it has been located in the Schreiber Tower of Bebenhausen Monastery, where the monastery administration used to be housed. From April to October, the information center is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10 am to 5 pm.
