Albtrauf Trail

The Albtrauf Trail starts in the city center of Tailfingen, in front of the Volksbank Tailfingen and leads over a short start loop directly to the special sprint ranking at the “brewery stairs”. Once at the top, it goes a few meters through the residential area and then into the terrain. To warm up there is the first meters of altitude from the Eyach spring towards Zitterhof and on the plateau the trail follows the edge of the forest towards “Irrenberg” to overcome the Albtrauf downwards. At kilometer 11.7, the relay runners make their first change at the hiking car park above Streichen. A constant change of root passages, rocky hiking trails, forest floor and occasional gravel paths make the following ascent from Thanheim to the "Heiligenkopf" entertaining. At kilometer 19.8 the second change point is reached at Zollersteighof and from there it goes rapidly downhill, halfway below the eaves to climb it again not far from the "oven rock". The view then wanders down along the eaves and the castle "Hohenzollern “Seems close enough to touch. As a foretaste of the 3rd stage, at the end you go a few meters through the alpine juniper heath, over the "Bergle" and down to the destination to Onstmettinger Banky.
