Description

The Schönbuch Nature Park is an almost completely forested area southwest of Stuttgart. Thanks to its easily accessible location, it is an important local recreation area. Its core area was named the first nature park in Baden-Württemberg in 1972. The highest peak of the Schönbuch is the Bromberg. Due to its species-rich and idyllic forest areas, the nature park was awarded the title Forest Area of the Year in 2014. The Schönbuch Nature Park information center has a long tradition. It was opened in 1997 to mark the park's 25th anniversary. Since then it has been located in the clerk tower of the Bebenhausen monastery, where the monastery administration used to be located. From April to October, the information center is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This circuit starts at a free golf course parking lot in Schönbuch. It is a forested stretch, the landscape is very beautiful. The focus here is on quiet forest and field paths. There are plenty of barbecue / picnic areas along the way. The path leads through wild animal enclosures whose gates can be opened. Once a piece of Tübingen is crossed briefly, but here also not along the main roads. After Tübingen, the path becomes a bit narrow or off-road-like for 100 m, but then you are back on asphalt. I drive the lap every now and then. The route was created by a frequent driver in Tübingen whose routes I often follow. I think he was particularly successful in this small, undemanding lap.Show more
