You can start at the car park near the Watzmannblick restaurant or arrive by bus. The special feature of this stage is the popular and panoramic brine pipeline trail. Due to the fairly flat route, the path is particularly suitable for pleasure hikers. Another highlight of the trail is that it is laid out on the sunny side of the Ramsau and you can also find out everything you need to know about how the brine was once channelled.
In the second part of the hike, the trail gradually leads through more alpine terrain, along the national park border up to the seasonally managed Neue Traunsteiner Hütte.
