Elbe Cycle Route stage P: Schmilka - Litoměřice

Left bank section of the Elbe Cycle Route This section is considered one of the most beautiful sections of the Elbe Cycle Route. The route is accompanied by the impressive rocky landscapes of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park and the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and finally leads through the Elbe Loop. Historically, this section of the route also has a lot to offer. At the confluence of the Elbe with Ploučnice is an impressive castle, the castle Střekov (Schreckenstein) is passed and also the historic bishop's town Litoměřice (Leitmeritz) at the confluence of the Elbe (Labe) with Eger (Ohře) and at the foot of the volcanic Bohemian low mountain range is a highlight of the tour. This route runs on the left side of the river Elbe. It is also possible to ride on the eastern side (right bank).
