The hike begins and ends at the Steinerne Renne railway station and goes through beautiful natural landscapes and beautiful local flora and fauna and to the Königshütte dam with moderate inclines in places. The route goes through the wooded hills of the Harz Mountains, along streams and small waterfalls. Refreshment stops are also available along the route.
The first and last kilometres are gravel paths, the kilometres in between are narrower paths through the forest and very pleasant. Some of the paths are overgrown but still passable.
