Inside the Bremmer Moselle loop lies the second highest Moselle mountain in Germany, the Pfälzer Hochkessel. The route begins on the uphill side of Neef railway station and first climbs the Hochkessel. The remains of a Celtic fortress from the late Hallstatt period and the subsequent Latène period (5th-1st century BC) can be found there. A double, oval stone rampart surrounds the summit, which is almost 150 metres long and up to 40 metres wide. The route continues from the summit in the direction of Petersberg, following the N1 signs. Here, the St Peter's Chapel can be found.
There are places to stop for refreshments and overnight accommodation in Neef.
