Kreuzberg (Ahr) - Plittersdorf - Krälingen

Panoramic high trail in the Eifel, Rhineland-Palatinate The loop leads from Kreuzberg westwards to Kirchsahr and the Effelsberg radio telescope, which is one of the largest mobile radio telescopes in the world. In any case, wonderful views of the Eifel landscape await, which in the western part also extend over the Hohes Venn-Nordeifel Nature Park. The route starts at the railway station in Kreuzberg and is therefore easily accessible by public transport. There are also car parking facilities in Kreuzberg. The loop is therefore ideal as a day trip from Bonn or Cologne. The first half of the hike leads mainly along the Sahrbacher Höhenweg. The historic Kreuzberg Castle, whose history dates back to the 9th century, is also located along the way. Today, however, it is privately owned and not open to the public.
