Impressive scenic hike by the Palatinate Forest Association in Hauenstein, Rhineland-Palatinate.
The hike can be reached by bus (Hauenstein bus stop) and is ideal for a day trip from Mannheim. Those arriving by car can park at the starting point.
The hiking trail starts at the Farrenwiese trail parking lot. It then leads in a southerly direction through the Queichtal along the water to the Dicke Eiche hiking hostel. The path then leads back to Hauenstein on the opposite side of the river and begins with a steep climb up to the viewpoint "Blick ins Queichtal". Shortly before you reach the end, you have the opportunity to stop off at the Paddelweiher hut.
