Stage 5 of the “Römerkanal-Wanderweg” long-distance hiking trail, North Rhine-Westphalia.
This is the fifth stage of the varied, around 115 km long Roman Canal hiking trail, which follows the course of a canal constructed by the Romans in the 1st century from Nettersheim through the Hohes Venn-Eifel Nature Park to Sülz.
The starting point of the fifth stage is in Rheinbach and the section ends in Brenig. You pass some very pretty villages as well as castle ruins and relics of Roman architecture.
There are places to stay overnight as well as restaurants. The route can be reached by bus and train.
