Loop
Popular and scenic loop near Königswinter in North Rhine-Westphalia.
This loop passes two highlights of the Siebengebirge - the Drachenfelsen and the Petersburg - on beautiful (and sometimes very steep) paths. It goes through beautiful hilly countryside with some lovely views.
The route starts at the Margaretenhöhe parking lot. The route leads over Großer Ölberg to Petersberg with its magnificent view of the Rhine. Via the Geisberg and the Nachtigallental valley, the route climbs up to the Drachenfels with another magnificent view over the Rhine. It then returns to the starting point of the tour via Löwenburg Castle. The route requires a good level of fitness, as there are many strenuous, steep sections to overcome along the way.
