• Partial Closure Kupferdreh Railway Bridge: The Kupferdreh railroad bridge between Essen-Heisingen and Essen-Kupferdreh will be closed from January 23, 2026, through February 2027 due to construction work. The alternate route continues along the riverbank over the next bridge. The varied tour leads through the southern districts of Bochum and starts at the parking lot P3 Hafen Heveney with an increase. From there it goes into the Lottental along the eponymous stream and past the Lottenbacher Teiche. Continue along the street "Im Haarmannsbusch" in the direction of Weitmar, where it finally goes through the Weitmarer Holz. From Hörsterholz, the route begins to follow the course of the Ruhr to the popular Baldeneysee, where a detour can be planned. Finally, the Dellbach is followed. On the way back, you pass Lembeck and the Ruhr Bridge until you reach the beautiful end of Lake Kemnader. There you can end the day in one of the rest stops or on the beach of the lake.
