The Hermannsweg is one of Germany's most beautiful high-altitude, partly running along the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest.
The path leads through nature parks: "Terra Vita" and "Eggegebirge and Southern Teutoburg Forest Nature Park." Its name derives from Hermann the Cherusker, who defeated the Roman general Varus and defeated three Roman legions in the year 9 AD.
