This hike is probably one of the most beautiful on the Ruhr. The high trail has partly steep climbs with magnificent views of the Ruhr, Kemnade dam and waterworks. There are numerous places to stop for refreshments.
From Haus Kemnade, after an ascent through the forests of the protected the hike reaches Blankenstein Castle. A detour to the ruins of the high medieval castle is of course planned. It towers imposingly over the Ruhr with a wide view.
Through the Gethmannscher Garten you go downhill to the Ruhr. The Ruhr is finally crossed and leads after a loop on the historic Leinpfad back to the starting point.
