Stage 2 of the "Ith-Hils-Weg" long-distance hiking trail, Lower Saxony.
On a more than 80 km long loop, the Ith-Hils-Weg runs over two distinctive mountain ranges in the eastern Weser Uplands.
From Humboldtsee it goes back to the Ith, from where you follow the Ith-Hils-Weg, which has been recognized as a quality trail, to Eschershausen. The hike is characterized by a lot of natural beauty: You pass imposing cliffs and rock formations as well as the picturesque NSG Ithwiesen. There are also some caves close to the route that can be visited as part of short detours. The stage ends in Eschershausen, which can be reached from the main route via a small access path.
