Borkum's Ostland is a true natural paradise. As the name suggests, the hike begins east of Borkum, starting at the parking lot on Ostfriesenstrasse (bus stop within walking distance). A large part of the route leads directly along the beach.
The Ostland was first discovered along the Ostland pastures. The viewing dune offers an excellent opportunity to see the vastness of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. The route then continues to the island's easternmost point, the Hoge Hörn. From there, most of the course runs along the beach. With some luck, young seals can be observed at the necessary distance. The tour is rounded off with a beautiful dune path. At the end, you can stop off at the "Ostland" restaurant.
