Kronberg Castle from the Opel Zoo

This varied route combines animal experiences with medieval history on the southern slopes of the Taunus. The trail starts at the famous Opel Zoo near Kronberg and leads up to the majestic Kronberg Castle. The route runs along a mixture of well-maintained forest paths, paved footpaths and charming old town alleyways. A key highlight is the contrast between the exotic animals in the zoo (which can often be seen from the hiking trail) and the imposing architecture of the ancestral castle of the Knights of Kronberg.
