This varied loop in the Hochtaunus district, just outside Frankfurt am Main, features three castles. It takes in the three towns of Königstein, Falkenstein and Kronberg. The towns alternate with lots of nature and all kinds of historical sites, so there's never a dull moment. Towards the end of the hike, the tour can be supplemented with a visit to the Opel Zoo.
The path is marked throughout with the 3BurgenWeg logo, which shows a black castle tower with a flag on a white background. All three castles can be visited depending on opening times.
